St Patty's Pet Pawrade
The canine's  "pawtyed” with a purpose at the German Coast Farmers’ Market on Saturday, March 15  at 10:00 A.M. at Ormond Plantation on River Road in Destrehan.  The market hosted a St. Patty’s Pet Pawrade.   Costumed pets in holiday garb paraded through the market area. Prizes were awarded for the best presentation of pet.

Ten month old Molly, a loveable St. Bernard belonging to Jay and Enise Robichaux of Norco was a hit with his St. Patrick's socks that he seemed to keep losing as he stopped to "smell out" the competition.  Lola, a petit datsun belonging to Kelsie Soudelier of DesAllemands was decked out with a flowing satin cape designed especially for her, and "The Ted," (a Corgi)  belonging to Robyn Bordelon of Destrehan was the perfect entrant, never losing his "cool" or his goggles and rabbit ears.

It was a difficult event to judge said one of the judges, Lauren Lemmon. But in true Westminister sytle, "The Ted" kept his cool among his arrivals and pranced off with first place.  Molly, the St. Bernard, came in second.

The winners, also in the photo on right is Nicole Robichaux.

Thanks to Janet and Brian Long, owners of "Bayou Pets", who donated treats which were used in the Pawrade's Prize Bags.
